about marc
I bring a mix of real-world experience, candor and expertise. More importantly, I’ve walked many paths. I’ve led public sector and non-profit organizations and navigated complex bureaucracies, all while staying true to myself as best as possible. I meditate regularly, practice somatic movement therapies, cultivate meaningful connections, have gained and lost relationships, and have raised children. Life has brought challenges and I am here to help others explore who they want to become and how they can get there - guiding them through their own challenges and stuck places and helping them to come out the other end stronger, more resilient, and more fully themselves.
After over 35 years of working in public service, I have transitioned to coaching and facilitating individuals and groups interested in personal and professional growth in service to themselves, their relationships, and their communities. I’ve held leadership positions spanning several public health disciplines. One of my favorite definitions of public health is the application of scientific knowledge in pursuit of social justice. I served as a local health director in multiple small rural North Carolina counties overseeing both clinical, environmental and community-based services. I worked in cancer control and prevention, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C, and oversaw Medicaid services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Throughout this work, I have been known for bringing compassion, humanity, mindfulness and insight. I have continually sought personal and organizational growth and development.
I retired from the New Mexico Department of Health in 2023, and haven’t retired from work or life. I now bring my passions to my coaching and consulting practice.
